A Sticker That Doesn't Look Like a Sticker

Clear vinyl stickers are printed on transparent BOPP, PET or clear vinyl film, so once applied, the film itself becomes nearly invisible and only your printed artwork remains visible on the surface underneath. Instead of a rectangular or shaped sticker sitting visibly on top of a product, the graphic appears to be printed directly onto the glass, bottle or window it's applied to. This "no-label look" is why clear stickers are popular for premium packaging, storefront branding and product decoration where a clean, minimal presentation matters more than a bold, opaque block of color.

Because standard inks are semi-transparent, any solid color, white text or opaque graphic element in your design needs a white ink layer printed underneath it — this is the white underprint option. Without it, colors on clear film look washed out or let the background show through unevenly. With it, your logo, text and graphics print crisp and opaque exactly where you want them, while every other part of the sticker stays fully transparent. We handle this layering and confirm exactly where underprint is applied on your free digital proof before production, so there are no surprises once the stickers are printed.

Clear vinyl works best on glass, windows, clear bottles, acrylic displays and transparent or light-colored packaging — anywhere you want the sticker to blend into the surface rather than stand apart from it. If your product surface is dark, textured, metallic or highly varied in color, white vinyl is usually the better choice, since its opaque white base guarantees consistent, accurate color regardless of what's behind the sticker. What does a clear/transparent sticker look like on my product?

Only your printed artwork is visible — the film itself disappears against glass, plastic or another clear surface, so there is no white or colored border framing the design. This gives a premium "no-label look" where your logo or graphic appears to float directly on the product, bottle or window rather than sitting inside a visible sticker shape.

Do you print white ink under colors so they show on clear film?

Yes. Standard CMYK inks are semi-transparent, so any solid color or white element in your design needs a white underprint layer behind it to show up opaquely on clear film — otherwise it looks washed out or invisible against whatever is behind the sticker. We apply white underprint wherever your artwork calls for solid color, while leaving the rest of the film transparent, and this is confirmed on your free proof before production.

What's the difference between clear vinyl and white vinyl — which should I pick?

Clear vinyl lets the surface underneath show through everywhere except your printed (and white-underprinted) artwork, giving the no-label look on glass, windows and clear packaging. White vinyl has an opaque white base across the whole sticker, so colors print bright and consistent regardless of what's behind it — better for dark, textured or busy surfaces where you want the design to stand out rather than blend in. Choose clear for a premium, minimal look on transparent or light surfaces; choose white when you need guaranteed color accuracy on any background.

Are clear vinyl stickers waterproof and outdoor-safe?
